Milestones

Here's Dylan in the library, May 13, 2009.

4/15 Dylan learned to push himself up into a seated position. He then promptly grabbed hold of the side of his bassinet and pulled himself up! He fell back from the excitement & scared himself but got right up and did it again. There's something else he accomplished that day too... it will come to me.

At his 5 mo checkup he was 16 lbs and 26"
At 7 mo he was 17.5 lbs and 27"

He's been rolling over since 4 mo.
Sitting up (supported) since 5 mo.
Army crawling at 5 1/2 mo.
Real crawling at 6 1/2 mo.
He's begun slowly taking steps along the furniture now at 7 mo. but still doesn't know how to get back down once he's pulled himself up there!
Learned how to sit down from a standing position and stood up without holding on to anything at 7 1/2mo.
Cut his two front teeth (his first ever!) on May 14th.
He clearly (frequently) babbles mama, dada, and hey & hi since around 6 1/2 mo.
Began pushing food (or bits of paper & trash) a little after 7 1/2 mo.

And right now he's enthralled by the ear of the pooh bear on the foot of his jammies. :)

Hot & Sweet Breakfast Tacos

This is a quick and tasty meal inspired by opening up the fridge and wanting everything you see, and wanting it NOW. Lucky for me, it all went together wonderfully. I imagine you can substitute just about anything on the list to suit your tastes too... within reason. I'm sure some of your fridges out there might have some hideous combinations lurking within.

1-2 jalapeno, diced
1 med. onion, sliced
1 med. apple, diced
6-8 corn tortillas (depending on how full you like to stuff em!)
6-8 slices of ham (one per tortilla)
3-4 eggs
1/3 cup mozzarella (or mild cheese)
oil as needed
sour cream for topping

Saute the onion, apple, and jalapeno until softened and slightly browned.
Fry the ham slices and tortillas (together or separately).
Scarmble the eggs with cheese.
Assemble like a taco & top with sour cream.
